Willie Horton walloped 36 home runs for the team, while Jim Northrup, Norm Cash, Bill Freehan and Dick McAuliffe each added 20 or more also. Jim Northrup drove in 90 runs. Denny McLain earned 31 wins on the mound for the squad, and Mickey Lolich, too contributed 15 or more wins, too Denny McLain recorded a 1.96 ERA, best among regularly-used pitchers.
