The New York Yankees of the American League ended the 1927 season with a record of 110 wins and 44 losses, finishing first in the AL.
The Yankees scored 975 runs, most in the league. New York gave up 599 runs, the lowest total in the circuit. Babe Ruth crushed 60 homers for the team, while Lou Gehrig and Tony Lazzeri walloped 20 or more also. Lou Gehrig drove in 175 runs and topped all regular hitters by hitting .373. Waite Hoyt led the squad with 22 wins, and Urban Shocker, Wilcy Moore and Herb Pennock each, too added 15 or more wins, too Wilcy Moore recorded a 2.28 ERA, tops among regularly-used pitchers.
