The Mets scored 853 runs and allowed 711 runs. Mike Piazza walloped 40 home runs for New York, while Edgardo Alfonzo, John Olerud and Robin Ventura each swatted 20 or more also. Mike Piazza drove in 124 runs. Roger Cedeno led hitters with significant playing time with a .313 average. Orel Hershiser and Al Leiter topped the squad with 13 wins each, and Al Leiter earned a 4.23 ERA, best among regularly-used pitchers.
