Jim Bottomley compiled a career batting average of .310 with 219 home runs and 1422 RBI in his 1991-game career with the St. Louis Cardinals, Cincinnati Reds and St. Louis Browns. He began playing during the August 18, 1922 season and last took the field during the September 16, 1937 campaign. Bottomley was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1948.
