Bill Nicholson compiled a career batting average of .268 with 235 home runs and 948 RBI in his 1677-game career with the Philadelphia Athletics, Chicago Cubs and Philadelphia Phillies. He began playing during the June 13, 1936 season and last took the field during the September 19, 1953 campaign. Nicholson was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1960.
