Mickey Vernon compiled a career batting average of .286 with 172 home runs and 1311 RBI in his 2409-game career with the Washington Senators, Cleveland Indians, Boston Red Sox, Milwaukee Braves and Pittsburgh Pirates. He began playing during the July 8, 1939 season and last took the field during the September 27, 1960 campaign. Vernon was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1966.
