The Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League ended the 1976 season with a record of 11 wins and 5 losses for 22 points, finishing first in the CFL's Western Conference. The team compiled a postseason mark of 1-1.
The defense proved to be a force, as the Roughriders conceded 238 points, the lowest total in the circuit. Saskatchewan piled up points with 427 points. Ron Lancaster triggered the aerial attack, passing for 3,869 yards. Rhett Dawson hauled in 65 receptions for 996 yards. Tom Campana was targeted regularly, too.
Steve Molnar ran for a team-high 822 yards.
The ball-hawking defense created 61 turnovers. Lorne Richardson snatched 7 errant tosses from the opposition.
John Payne coached the team. The 1976 Saskatchewan Roughriders lost in the Grey Cup.
