The Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League ended the 2004 season with a record of 12 wins and 4 losses, finishing first in the NFL's South Division of the American Football Conference. The team compiled a postseason mark of 1-1.

Offensively, Indianapolis paced the league with 522 points. On the other side of the ball, the defensive unit allowed 351 points. Peyton Manning led the charge, slinging for 4,557 yards. Marvin Harrison topped pass catchers, grabbing 86 balls, while Reggie Wayne added 1,210 receiving yards. Brandon Stokley provided receiving help also.

Edgerrin James carried the pigskin for a team-leading 1,548 yards for the Colts.

The sticky-fingered defense manufactured 36 turnovers. Jason David picked off 4 opponent throws. Dwight Freeney paced the defensive unit with 16 quarterback sacks, part of an overall team total of 45 sacks.

Tony Dungy coached the team. The 2004 Indianapolis Colts lost in the Division Playoff.
