The Birmingham Thunderbolts of the XFL ended the 2001 season with a record of 2 wins and 8 losses, finishing fourth in the XFL's East Division.
The Thunderbolts managed just 131 points, worst in the league, and the shaky defensive squad gave up 239, most in the circuit. Casey Weldon threw for 1,228 yards. Stepfret Williams led the receiving corps, hauling in 51 receptions for 828 yards. Quincy Jackson contributed to the receiving game also.
James Bostic rushed for a team-high 536 yards for Birmingham.
Eric Sloan picked off 4 errant tosses from the opposition. Cedric Pittman and Quinton Reese each topped the defensive unit with 3 sacks.
Gerry DiNardo coached the team.
