Sid Abel scored 189 goals and recorded 283 assists for 472 points in his 612-game career with the Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Black Hawks. He began playing during the 1938 season and last took the ice during the 1953 campaign. Abel was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1969.
